Our Mission
At Kitselas Housing Society, our mission is to ensure that every Kitselas First Nation member has access to safe, stable, and high-quality housing on-reserve. We recognize that a home is more than just a structure—it is a foundation for family, culture, and community well-being.

As stewards of our housing initiatives, we also support our community by managing regulatory and reporting requirements for Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC). We are committed to transparency, accountability, and responsible housing management to maximize opportunities for our members.

Our work is rooted in the values of respect, collaboration, and self-sufficiency. By fostering strong partnerships and advocating for housing solutions that reflect our community’s needs, we strive to build a brighter future for current and future generations.

Our Journey
Since our establishment, Kitselas Housing Society has remained committed to addressing housing challenges and creating lasting solutions for our community. We understand that safe, stable, and affordable housing is the foundation of a strong and thriving Nation.

Between 2005 and 2011, we successfully constructed 63 new homes, significantly increasing on-reserve housing availability. These efforts have been instrumental in bringing approximately 252 Kitselas band members back home, reconnecting families with their community, culture, and traditional lands.

Our commitment does not stop there. We continue to develop new housing projects, ensuring that as our community grows, our housing services evolve to meet its needs. Through careful planning, strategic partnerships, and access to funding, we are laying the groundwork for future home construction, renovations, and infrastructure improvements.

Looking ahead, our vision is to expand housing opportunities, promote sustainable building practices, and ensure every Kitselas member has a place to call home. We remain dedicated to strengthening our community by fostering a sense of belonging and security for generations to come.
